overtime are eligible to receive 1.25 of their hourly wages for the first two
hours of overtime. For every consecutive hour after that, the employers are
expected to pay 1.5 of the hourly wages to the employees working overtime.
Similarly in case of employees availing a sick leave are eligible to receive
35% of their wages for the second and third day of the leave. From the fourth
day onwards, the employers have to pay 75% of the employee wages. However, in
order to avail the benefits of sick pay, it is essential for the employees to
provide a doctor’s note to the employers.

Contracts
All employers are required to sign a
contract with their employees within thirty days after the latter start work.
The contract needs to clearly outline the parameters related to work hours,
salary, overtime and sick pay as well as deductions for insurance and
unemployment compensation. In addition, the contract should also outline any
other terms of work not covered by the above pointers. The contracts are mainly
of two types, namely those of indeterminate duration and those for a fixed
term. The indeterminate contracts the most popular ones and can be terminated
by the employees only after giving at least two weeks advance notice to the
employees.
